Windscreen damage is mostly caused by a rock, stone or other solid object hitting the outside layer of the windscreen. The majority of new replacement windscreens supplied and fitted by Wops Glass are made of damage resistant laminated glass that consists of two layers of glass with a layer of Poly Vinyl Butyral (PVB) in between. When a car windscreen is damaged, sharp pieces of glass tend to adhere to the PVB layer, therefore reducing the danger to a vehicle’s occupants from flying glass.
